My latest aquisitions
Here are the latest three items to be added to my collection. The first is something that a few of you will recognize since you had input into the design. To remind you. http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t...highlight=

I do not have the stats on the axe yet. I will say it is extremely light and handy with a great feeling in the hand. Cudos to the whole gang up at A&A. I would like congratulate whomever had a hand in creating this piece. It is exactly what I was looking for.

The spear is the standard Viking offering from A&A with a rivetted head.

The last is the Buckler II from the great folks at Mercenary's Tailor that I picked up when it was 20% off. I like the feel of it. Very solid and handy and will be used to learn I:33.

That turned out real good looking and it goes well with the spear and buckler. :D
Thank you Jean. I am very happy with how the axe turned out as well. It just feels real good in the hand and feels like it would swing effortlessly and hit like the proverbial ton of bricks (Not sure if that is a metric or standard ton mind you! :D )

The nice thing about the axe being done is that I can start to budget money to have a XIIIb custom made now!

Wow! Really nice set you have there! I love the axe, very no-nonsense.

Nice looking axe and great pics of the A&A Viking Spear.

Any chance you can post some more pictures of the Spear showing the entire haft and head?

Just out of curiosity the Spear is Petersen "Type M" correct? I thought it might be a "Type G" at first, however the socket is too long to be a "Type G".

Danny
Tim,
Thank you very much. I know you have experienced working with A&A on at least one custom project. How is that beautiful XI doing by the way? I kind of like my weapons to be all business as it were though some embellishment is not out of the question.

Danny,
Thank you as well. I will see about getting pictures of the entire spear. I do not remember if we took them before the wife disappeared with all the cameras though since she is the photographer in the family. Nevertheless I will get a picture up ASAP. As to the Peterson typology I cannot speak to that since I am unfortunately unfamiliar with it. Funny I know and something that I will have to reconcile at some point. Maybe Craig will stop in and be able to give an answer.

Scott
I believe the axe is Petersens Type C. The spear looks to be something of a "tweener", with a combination of features from types G and M.
