If any one is interested...
I just noticed that Museum Replicas has a handful of the old, discontinued Towton Sword in their "Last Chance" bin. Pretty sweet price, just right for you hot-rodders out there. I seem to recall this being one of their better items; hopefully these last few are good specimens.
Good Night, and good luck.
Eric

Thanks for the heads up Eric, it was my birthday on the 19th and my lovely wife managed to surprise me with a little money for a sword fund. As luck would have it on Sunday morning, I saw your post and jumped on it. I have read all the reviews before and this being my first sword, I thought it was the perfect opportunity and perfect timing...I'm in What sort of times did they give you other fellows?

I live in Cartersville, GA - about 60 or so miles from the MRL warehouse. It normally takes them between 5-7 business days to get something to my house - with the item shipping out 3-4 days after I have paid. The little customer service chat pop up on their site works during business hours, someone can answer you if you have your order number.
Not sure if this helps you or not.

Sarge, that helps a little, but my invoice said this item is back ordered, I called yesterday and spoke with someone to see what exactly this means. I was told the swords were not at the warehouse and would take 30-45 days. I assumed they would be at the warehouse but whatever, I was wondering if everyone or anyone here that ordered one had the same response. I'm patient enough to wait, just curious.

Sorry to hear about the backorder thing. I used to run into all the time when I was a vendor. The 30-45 day window means that they are still in Derha Dun and will have to be shipped stateside. At that price though, I'd have no problem waiting; especially on a popular discontinued item like the Towton. I'd happily wait a year on another one of my favorite models like the Higgins or Transitional Viking sword no problemo!

Thanks for the insight Sarge, this being my first sword I didn't understand the system.

Ordered a Towton via email on Sunday (22nd) shortly after reading Eric's post. Confirmed it Monday via phone and was told sword would be shipped in 24-48 hours. Also received a confirmation message Monday. Will drop an email on receipt.

Dan

Well, it turns out that when I placed the order on Tuesday, I was too late. They sent me a snail-mail letter telling me that they were sold out, but they'll happily give me a 10% off on something else.
Oh well.

Guess I really don't need a Towton. Like Ed I received a snail mail note informing me of the out of stock status and the offer of 10% off my next order.
Regards,
Dan.

Hey all,
Sorry to have opened up this can... I thought I might be potentially doing the community "a solid" (as the kids say these days). I'll be a bit more reserved in my enthusiasm next time I see something like that at MRL. Maybe Windlass will get the picture and put that baby back into regular production. No hard feelings, I hope...
