Anyone know where I can get boxes the right size and shape to ship swords in? In the past I have actually cut larger boxes and taped them together to make an appropriately sized shipping box. For swords that are dismountable, I used the Kevin Cashen shipping trick: Take the hild off, bubble wrap extensively and pack in a PVC plastic pipe with wooden ends screwed on. That method is very reliable and rock solid. But for swords that are not dismountable, shipping boxes can be a problem. Any suggestions besides making a shipping box out of wood?

I've had good success with Book and Video stores. They often receive card board displays/dumps that come in long boxes.

Check your local auto-body shops .....
I've had great success finding long/deep sized boxes there ( and they are always happy to get rid of them).

Another place to check is a local electrical supply warehouse/store. I should know, I work for one.
Ask for boxes that 6' & 8' fluorescent bulbs come in and 4 bulb 8' shop light fixture boxes work well too.
