Clontarf & Scabbard
Wood core scabbard with leather done by me using silver fittings made by Parker Brown at Crescent Moon Armory that are engraved in the same manner as the cross on the Albion Clontarf. This was a good learning experience because we found out why one should never ever ever EVER use titebond III glue on a scabbard core (immediate corrosion upon contact). But all is well now after a re-build....... I think I have finally (after a lot of screwups) also figured out the art of mixing Fiebings dye to get the desired color and effect. I wanted an "oxblood" that was on the side of red for this one with a bit of a woodgrain texture. Chape is a sandwich of poplar and leather. as always all kinds of comments welcome.

Looks good. I especially like the engraved metal bands to match the guard & pommel.
Looks real good. Perfect for the sword.
