good timing...
I've been meaning to make a post asking when the VEGAS blade show is going to happen. My undestanding is that it is usually the second week in January? Is anyone going to the Vegas blade show in Jan 2009? (If this is indeed the time). Is the Vegas blade show the biggest?
Chris,
I've split your post off from Matthew Resmini's (for the second time). Matthew is asking about shows in the Seattle/Vancouver area. You're asking about a show in Vegas. Different topics, so different threads. :)
Hi Chad,

I think so... I remember someone saying it was the week after CES... Is this a good place to go to see and shop for various swords and knives? How does this show compare to other various blade shows? What are some of the best quality items that might come to this show?

it's mostly antique knives, swords, and other things thrown in. The quality modern stuff is from Albion and Vince Evans. There are topics on the forum here from members who have attended in previous years.
Chris,
Hopefully someone will pipe in with more info. I've never been to the Vegas show, so I can't give any firsthand experiences of my own. Albion has gone to this show, I believe, and there are supposed to be a number of good antique dealers there, too. Some custom smiths go as well, usually with stock available for immediate sale.

The Vegas show has been discussed on this forum many times. Using the search function, I found these threads:

A photo album from one of the shows: http://www.myArmoury.com/albums/thumbnails.php?album=199

We have two reports on the Atlanta Bladeshow on our Features page for comparison. We also have a report on a Baltimore Antique Arms Show.

Atlanta is more a modern knifemakers showcase; it has little to no antiques (at least it didn't the two times I went).
