The first model I bought had a dried up wooden handle, that was glued to the tang, so the cross would rattle all the time, since no amount of re-peening could tighten it up.
I requested a replacement, and got it today.

The first thing I noticed was the little plastic piece that held the sword in the sheath was no longer black, but brown, and was much more streamlined with the sheath opening.

The second thing I noticed was that the sword was MUCH more lively in hand... So I decided to compare the two.
Since my friend also bought one (the same batch as the one I had replaced) I weighted them.

Same weight: 1.45 kg.

Tried the CoP-pommel-strike test...
Similar, however mine is 32 cm from the tip, while my friend's is 27 cm.

Then I measured where the PoB was... Huge difference:
The old one has the PoB 9 cm from the guard, but the new one has it only 4 cm from the guard!
Anyway, it makes the tip a lot easier to control, and is much more stab-friendly.

Your thoughts? A change for the better or worse?

Hello! I handled the old Practical H&H once, and it was lively enough with the old PoB. Maybe this one have to little blade presence, but since it is a sparring sword and you won't cut with it, you probably won't mind that.

I'll give you a little tip for anyone else who has the rattley cross problem with this sword. Take some 6lb fishing line and pull it in tight around the tang, between the grip and the cros. Torquing the cross to open the gap may be necessary as you lap around. Try to do at least 4 or 5 laps. Slather a bit of epoxy on the last bit of the line before pulling it through. Tie it off. Once the epoxy is dry trim it up and you'll never see it. Thats what I did with mine and it's as tight as a drum.
