Allan has been doing this full time now, and increased the number of items to choose from by 100% in the last year. He's been a very busy boy... What I love about Mercenary Tailor's armor is that not only does it handle getting knocked aorund, should you choose to "use" it, but it looks fabulous on display. We have a Chapel de Fer on display in our office, by Howy's desk, and I plan to choose another helm for display in our home. Just haven't decided which one yet... That Anglo Saxon that you put on your post may be it. :-)

I wrote to the FBI to see if they had a file on me. They wrote back, "we do now..."

Yeah , I just recieved the breast and back plates and have them just sitting on a chair in my living room along with the Albion plackard and when people walk in they literally stop in their tracks to stare. Lets face it, most people outside of our little sword circle have never seen real armor up close. They are scared to touch it! Happy They get over that real quick when I grab one of my wasters and give it a nice wallop! Happy

I also vote for the Anglo-Saxon helm for home! I also like the Norman/Viking Conical helm... and the Zischagge and the Early Great Helm and the Sallet with articulated neck...

But in addition... let me see... my Xmas list is...

Pauldrons with haute pieces (new item from Allan's hammer -- Leif still has to take photos but they will be up soon!)
Breast and back (now that they do larger sizes!)
a Plackard for over that, with tassets. (but attached to the breastplate rather than strapped for over-the-shoulder)
15th c leg defence
two-piece greaves (If I can figure out how to squeeze my fat calves into them, if not then one-piece)
15th c arms
fingered gauntlets
arming coat
arming chaps

All I would need is for Allan to add some articulated sabatons to the line-up... then I think I'll blacken the whole outfit....

Then i'd want to start on my "early transition" outfit, starting with the those nice espallieres... and the Early Great Helm...

...and then I want one of those spiked 16th C Targets...

Oh, the list goes on...

Allan, Harlan and crew are rocking along quietly with their bad selves, making it harder and harder for me to put off starting my own collection of their pieces... my only limits are lack of money and that I'd need everything in "plus" sizes...

Great work, guys!

Best,

Howy

The Casquetel is quite a nice looking piece of ironwear.

I had the priveldge of having Mercanaries Tailor at my WMA event last summer. Harlan, Allen, Doug, Jason and the entire gang showed up with a truck load of armor complete with tools and anvil. They hammered away for 3 days. A great bunch and they really know their profession. I loved the 15th century sallet that they brought with them.
