By happenstance I happened to have a couple of knives in my possession to do some work on. The first one is Arms and Armor's medieval knife. It's a simple utilitarian sort of piece that has been dressed up a little by the metall ring that they placed at the end of the handle. I built a scabbard for it and also ended up doing some cleanup work on it. It had been rather badly abused by whoever had sharpened it for the customer. The edge was a mess and it was scratched up. A lot of polishing and grinding later and I had it looking presentable again.
One question for Craig and the boys, are these knives hardened? This one seemed to be very soft. I rolled the edge once fairly easily.

The other knife was a dirk by Armart. They did a nice job on this particular dirk. It's a shame that they can't seem to get it together in a business sense.

No pics of the dirk then?

Just realized I left the bloody dirk out. (Okay not literally bloody) Sorry got a little excited about the scabbard. One thing I'm wonder about is if the guys at Arms and Armor temper this knife. It seemed very soft when I was sharpening it.

Bloody, huh? I see you've really been putting the dirk through it's paces. Perhaps you shouldn't send it back to me. I'm not really interested in getting my fingerprints all over "exhibit A".

I said perhaps you shouldn't send it back. After careful consideration I've changed my mind.
