Can anyone recommend a good Targe maker in the U.S. to make a replica of this targe/irish shield for me?

Try George Bolton, 130 N. Hudson St., Coldwater, MI 49036-1402,; 517-278-4055. I do not know what he is producing at the moment but he is the only name I have in my files. I did buy a boss and spike from him about 25 years ago that were fine. Given that he is apparently still in business after all this time he must be doing something right.

I found my targe maker, I went with Joe Lindsay right from the capital of the Highlands and he created this masterpiece for me. I am still waiting eagerly for delivery but he sent me a picture of the finished product, and I am very, very happy with how it looks. Truely a work of art I can pass down to future generations. Thank you Joe.

It is a beaut. Be careful not to get any sword cuts or bullet holes in it.

Nope its strictly for display not even going to be used in re-enactments. Its 16th century ya know and the Irish stopped using them after the Great O'Neills modernizations at the end of that century as far as I know.

Being a police Lieutenant and former marine I have state of the art modern body armour and weapons to use if I have to defend myself. Cool

Looks beautyful, Kevin!
It's nice to see how other targes than his "standard" targes turn out.
Love the interlace on this one.

Cheers,
Henrik

Constant and true.
