Hello everyone,
I have an Omani Matchlock rifle from the 1700's that I would like to learn more about. Can anyone tell me what it's worth on the collector's market or provide me with more information about the weapon and who might be interested in it. I bought this antique in Kuwait about 25 years ago.
I've attached a picture of the gun. Any response will be appreciated.
Hello. A lot of period alterations. I think it is Indian and not of substancial value but I'm no expert on that field. I recommend sending a note to Artzi Yarom of www.oriental-arms.com .Curator of Beit Ussishkin, regional nature & history museum, Upper Galilee.
I agree with Sa'ar that it is probably Indian. The buttstock certainly looks Indian.
Due to its overall condition and a limited amount of collector interest in that sort of firearm I doubt that it has much value. Perhaps the link to which Sa'ar referred you can help.Lin Robinson
