New Website ! A Work Of Art
Dear Forumites
I know it's hard to believe, but... I am finally putting out a new website, long overdue !
It's at... www.arts-swords.com ......it is still in the construction stages, but I have the
Holiday Greeting up and a lot of good content. It will only get better !

Please check it out and let me know what you think !

Sincerely,
Art Elwell

Art,

Just hitting the home page I'll say its a nice improvement.

Can't wait to see what the finished product looks like.

Do hope you'll have some kind of in-stock flag on items that are, well, in-stock! :D
Joe

I'm not sure I'll do that ! I like the personel touch and
the interaction with my customers.

I will be taking cards though !

Art
Much, much better.

I would also note whether the swords are blunt or sharp and that you can sharpen them upon request.

I also really love the close up shots of the swords. I've never seen the detail on some of those Del Tins before and I was very suprised on some of the swords. I had no idea that the DT5150 actually has brass tacs in the leather grip. If I remember correctly the original also has that feature but I never expected it in a reproduction. Very cool.
Arthur,
I had not seen your site until I just looked at your link to it, the new one looks great, much better. Looks very professional, and a very good site to buy off. :p
Gratz on the website. :)
Jason
Del Tin can only export unsharpened blades. It has something to do with Italian regulations.
The edge is "near sharp" , not sharp. I can put an edge on them fairly easy without effecting
the blade geometry.
The other makers, Lutel, Paul Chen.........I can only recommend ordering the blade sharp if
that is what you want.

Sincerely,
Art
Douglas
Thank You !

Art
Its a good website: easy to read and use, the layout is crisp and shows exactly what I need to see without any unnecessary clutter.
Thank You Stuart !

I had that in mind, when this project started !

Art
Your new website is already a big improvement, Art.

I look forward to seeing the "side by side comparison", when that is functional - it sounds like an interesting feature.

A suggestion - the order of the pick list of Del Tins is a little confusing, since it is not in alphabetical order. I assume that these are in the order of the DT modely numbers, so it might (or might not - maybe you already tried this) be helpful to show the model numbers in the pick list.

Note - your myArmoury signature still points to the old website.
Outstanding website, Art! I can't wait to see the finished product. I've just spent the past several minutes looking at all the Del Tins. There aren't too many American vendors carrying DT's anymore (or have I just been out of the loop for too long?)
Very nice indeed...looking forward to seeing the Lutel section up and running....

Cheers,

Bill
Dear Steve
I talked with my webmaster and she felt that it would be a good idea to include the model number. This will probably
take place after the holidays. I am also going to have a link from my old site to the new one.

Thank You for the suggestions !

Art,

I'll echo the preceding compliments. It looks like the new site is going to be a nice improvement. Good work.

Yesterday my wife, Gwen, gave me the Del Tin Celtic sword she ordered from you. As always, she was pleased with the service and I with the product. Keep up the good work, and Merry Christmas.
Art,

And this morning she gave me the Del Tin spatha for my birthday. Again, satisfaction all around.

By the way, I've always been very impressed with the type of packaging you use. VERY secure.
Jim
I'm glad your pleased. It's the only way to promote
return customers. Thank your lovely wife for me !

Sincerely,
Art
The site really does look great, Art.

And if I may take a moment to give Art a plug, my girlfriend wanted to buy me a sword for a Christmas combined with birthday present (I'm a December baby). She doesn't really know much about swords, so she wanted my help to ensure that she didn't pick something that I wouldn't like, and I contacted Art about picking up a Del Tin. Art was super helpful with questions and answers. Plus, he has a ton of stuff in stock for Del Tin, and for those of us in the US, that's a huge plus considering the wait time of ordering from Italy.

Unfortunately for me, UPS had a bit of a screw up (no fault of Art's), and the box didn't arrive until after my girlfriend went out of town, so I'm not going to be able to see it until after the New Year. Aw, well, it beats waiting half a year waiting for Del Tin directly.
Hi Art,

I second everyone's compliments on your new website. It really looks attractive and user friendly. I also am very excited about your upcoming Lutel section, any idea when we might expect it?

One suggestion for the suggestion box, don't know if this is possible or even considered by many as important, but one thing I always wished was listed on the Del Tin site was the weight in pounds and ounces in addition to the grams. Maybe I am lazy on the calculation factor, but I for one think it would be very helpful for your customers to be able to make quick and easy comparisins on this side of the pond would be to list the swords weight in pounds and ounces.

Similarly, the length in feet and inches would be much appreciated and convenient.

I look forward to your completed site and hope to support it with a purchase in the upcoming year.

Best regards,

Terry
Thank you Bill !

Thank You for the compliments !

I will be carrying Lutel's on a limited bases as I always have. So, I'll be selective on what I'll be carrying. I
hope to have something together within the next couple months.

I may attach a link to a metric conversion site to make converting a bit easier.

Sincerely,
Art
