Pappenheim helm
On bestarmour.com, they have a beautiful helm listed as a pappenheim helm:

Could someone tell me what type of harness, if any, would be associated with this style of helm?
I have moved this topic to the Historic Arms Talk forum.

Thank you.
Re: Pappenheim helm
Pappenheim was a dashing 17th century German cavalry general who was killed at the battle of Lutzen in 1632. I've not heard of a helmet associated with him. This one is a zishagge and from the faceplate I would say Polish or Hungarian. Certainly the time frame would be right.

It would have been worn with a range of armour, from just a buff coat, to buff coat, breast and back and bridle gauntlet, Polish winged hussar armour and possibly with 3/4 plate.

Cheers
Stephen
Thanks for the help, I managed to find some great images of polish hussar armor on google, awesome stuff!
