Okay I must admit I have not spent as much time as I could have looking at the baskethilt threads that you gentleman have posted here. However being the owner of a baskethilt myself now I think I need to pay closer attention. The question I have is do any of you have a picture of what a scabbard for such a beast should look like?

Here's a pic from George Neumann's book "Swords & Blades of the American Revolution"
Here is an example of a James Grant baskethilt / scabbard, from "Culloden The Swords & the Sorrows"

Wow. You know it's totally annoying that Vince is such a good scabbard maker and it's just a peripheral thing to his sword work. He's a heck of a nice guy and has taught me a lot.

Yes indeed .... Vince is a master of all things wood & steel !
