Nice to see a more modern piece about historical re-enactment reach the front page of the BBC webite. It even refers implicitly to the use of fighting systems during the middle ages, which is more than many articles on the subject do! Not to mention saying that armour was meant to be almost a 'second skin'. Makes a change from the usual 'tin can weighing tons'...
The finishing quote is one that will stick in the memory I think!

His comments on bows was complete rubbish, though:

Well, I shoot a 130lb bow, and I have a friend who makes a living making and selling heavy warbows, so there must be a few of us out there.
