If you want a modern "tactical" looking kukri, you might check out Cold Steel's version.

I have one that I like quite a lot.

See the link above. The prices are very low, so in retrospect I'm not sure how much there is left to be passed on to the workers, but I got a 15" blade Sirupate off them a while back and it is very strong, sharp, tight etc.. (I've used it for hedging and so on). They will alter their standard designs for you (I got one with a slightly straighter back - maybe 10 or 15 degrees less 'kink'). Finish is not up to Albion standards, but I thought it very good for the price. The sharpener and by-knife that come with the scabbard are not very impressive, but since I wasn't after them anyway, that wasn't a problem for me. Scabbard itself was plain but good. Production and delivery were on-time and trouble free. Overall, it must be the best value edged thing I've ever bought.

Himalayan Imports, without a doubt.

Superb craftsmanship, a wide variety of sizes and styles, plus an unbeatable guarantee.
I have a dui chirra (double fullered) chitlangi that I just adore.

I didn't surrender, but they took my horse and made him surrender.

Hey Trent,

John Cooksey has one, and this is what he thinks of HI...

I add to the chorus praising Himalayan Imports. I bought a Sirupati second hand and it is an awesome deal for the money. Fittings are tight, blade is thick and robust. Got one with buffalo horn handle and it's beautiful.

I also like that it's individually crafted and no two are exactly alike.
