Good Morning to all, I'm Gianfranco Bongioanni from Turin ( the city of the Olimpic Winter Games of 2006), Piedmont, Italy. This is my first post in this beautiful site. I had found much informations for my studies, indeed I,m going to degree in archaeology. I have a question: do you now some evidence of vambraces for the years 1250 - 1300?
Best Regards
Gianfranco
note- I'm apologize for my rusty english.

Ciao Gianfranco,
I posted a pass from Bovesin della Riva of 1288 about Milanese army that could be interesting for you. Here is the link:

the word "cirotecis" probably means not only the gauntlet, but the entire arm protection.
If you want to talk in italiano send me a pm or email, sono di Roma.

David Nicolle's armas and armour of the crusading era are full of examples from pre 1300. Most are in Italy. If you have not seen the books it is worth looking into, one can find it fairly cheap online and I heard they have both volumes in one books now.
