Please note: at 5pm PST today, Wednesday, March 10th, the myArmoury.com server will be migrating to a new high-tech data facility. During this move, we may experience some site outtage. Please be aware that we are aware of this potential outtage.

Things might be a little strange for 48 hours after the move.

The most significant potential problem is this: We may experience some data loss during this period of time, as backups are restored and everybody starts pointing over to the new server from the old. We may lose some posts or uploaded photos to our albums that were created during that 48-hour window of time.

The reason for the move is simple. We want to increase the quality of our service. The new facility is much more costly, but the quality of the new datacenter is well worth it.

I noticed I lost all the album pics I uploaded yesterday, and the server was down early this morning (EST) !
Does this mean the move is done, and everything is stable now ?

Yeah. Looks that way. Rolled back to the 10th, as advertised.

Cheers.

Nathan, Is this why a post I made late last night has gone missing, and a post that I *SWEAR* was posted yesterday is being reported as having been made today? Technology is so fun.... Wink

Yep, that's why. As advertised, any content that was generated during that two day window is gone to the ether. No more data loss will happen, but it's likely that the server may need to be rebooted a few times (which takes about 15 minutes each time) over the next couple days as things are tweaked. The new server and facilities are so much more robust than the old, though. They weren't bad before, but man, they're screamin' now.
