My New Christian Fletcher/Albion Riding Sword!
My new sword is on it's way! This is the pic Christian sent me of it in it's historical scabbard he made. It is dark oxblood with antiqued fittings on sword and scabbard. I know for many people it is too small of a sword, some even say a "woman's sword", but for a small 5'6" guy like me, it is a nice sidearm size for everyday wear (if I were in the middle ages, of course!). I probably wouldn't want to take it into war or anything, but i'm not really planning to! :)
I will post more pics when I receive it...

As a proud owner of a Riding sword I can assure you, that it isn't a "woman's sword", but a very fast, agile little bugger :D
Thanks, Markus! I actually have pics of yours saved on my hard drive, from somewhere you posted them once. Wanted to drool over it while I waited for mine! I believe your scabbard is dark brown, but your grip is black? At least that's how it looks in the pics. Very nice.

The grip is brown, the scabbard is oxblood, but the pictures were a bit dark.
Finally got pics developed...

In this photo the color looks "fire engine red," but is due to my camera flash brightening the red too much.

This is much closer to the actual color. Somewhere in-between this and the first pic at the top of this page.

Also shows the color as too bright. LOL, I need a digital camera! [ Download ]
Actually the bright red doesn't look too bad even if oxblood is nicer. I just love that sword so perhaps my opinion is biased. Maybe if and when I get one I'll get it in red...
Glen- thanks for pictures of your elegant riding sword- I'm partial to red leathers, but I'm even more impressed by the subtle lines of the crossguard. I am about your height, and may want to leave the Big Ones @ home and wear something lighter. Back to the budget...Congratulations on the sword!
