I seem to have been on a TEMPL tangent lately, but have you all looked at his A03 German Sword "spatha" at
http://www.templ.net/weapons/antiquity_and_ea...ge.php#A03. Please don't hyperventilate at the price, but consider the beauty of the sword and its furnishings, scabbard included. The whole suite is superb, as it damned well ought to be at the price. But it is the most stunning Migration Era sword that I have ever seen and Patrick assures me that he gets a few commissions for it. Wow! Please also not his beautiful pattern-welded Viking blades and his A13 Anglosaxon(sic) Sword. I would very much like to have any of them. Interestingly, given the very shrt grip on my Roman Riding Sword, A02, of about 3.5" and with had edged pommels and guards wit rivets in them jabbing your hand, I find that the Viking and Anglo-Saxon swords appear to have grips well exceeding 4". Hooray for modern usages.
