John,

My feedback is on both the more and less historical side of things, you keep doing nice work. Its going to be fun watching you develop your own niche.

Thank you Jean :),

Yes I am offering these with a few options such as wood type, ebony, bloodwood, black walnut, ironwood etc. as well as choice of hilt fittings brass, steel, and bronze. The type of ballock pictured will come with a wood core leather covered scabbard with a chape, locket and frog for $850.00.

Hi Joe,

Thank you, i do appreciate it. :)

Hi everyone,

I have been thinking of the price that i quoted and i would like to drop the price to $700 for a limited time. The reason for this is many of you have not seen my work first hand and i would like to change that. If the price is still out of range for any of you who may be interested i do offer payment options. Half or a quater down would get you in my queue.
Please feel free to PM me if interested as I will be happy to work something out with you.

Regards,

John

Just to be sure does this price include the scabbard or is it for the knife alone ? The knife would be worth it alone but with scabbard included it would be a bargain. ( Assuming one has the funds. ;) If I'm not sure I can budget for this one NOW, the least I can do is " lead others into temptation " :p Just promote me to the " DEMON " of premature spending. :p

DEMON of Premature Spending: ( 666 ) 666-6666 ....... whynot@iambroke.

Oh, back to serious business: How long is the queue ? Money months from now, always seems like something one can commit to now ! Also makes payment options seem more attractive. :D ( Oh, no I may fall into my own trap ! The Demon is not very smart ! ) :p

Hi Jean,

You are a riot my good man :).

Yes, they will come with a scabbard. Consider it the grand opening in my new and much larger shop.

Regards,

John
A very sleek looking piece for sure...

Just wondering how different the color is for bronze compared to brass ? I do have an Albion Sovereign and the Bronze pommel looks richer in color to me than brass.

Oh, and how long is your cue for one of these, if you don't mind giving a ballpark figure ? Still in kicking tire mode. ;)
Do you take mastercard ? ( Danger, danger Will Robinson ........ :p " Lost in Space " reference. ) ( The Demon of Premature Spending is whispering in my ear ....... )

Also might be interesting to know how the different wood compare aesthetically and durability ? Strongest, less prone to cracking, hardness, color, grain ?
Hi Jean,

As you stated the color of bronze is bit more rich than brass. As far as my queue goes i have 3 custom orders that i am finishing up. I would say it would be about 30 day turnaround on these from order placed to shipment. The different woods that i posted are all really nice hardwoods and have more or less about the same consistency. I like to use really hard woods and soak them in teak oil, it works great and i havent had any cracking problems. If any problem would occur i would fix or replace it. Aesthetically speaking the choice from my list of hilt materials, well its really up to individual taste.

I am only offering this price for a limited time, unsure of how long i will offer it and it would depend on the response. My shop is now 2000 sq. feet and i am gearing up my production and output.

I hope that covers your questions.

Thanks for your interest.

John

Thanks, good to know :D I was thinking in terms of multiple months or worse. A lot of people really hate long waits, for custom work I consider anything below 6 months " fast " and more than a year " long ".
John;

E-Mail sent. :D
That was fun watching you talk yourself into one there, Jean! :D

Good-looking dagger!
Thank you Addison.

Email sent back to you Jean. :)

John
Jean,

Thank you helping to keep so many of the artists we appreciate in the black. ;)

John liked my sense of humour, how could I not buy. :p

In any case, I may push it but I do know when I really can't afford something and I was talking myself into it. :loll:

Found a good site to look up wood types with pictures and descriptions covering aesthetics and mechanical / woodworking
quality.
