Albion Kingmaker
Mike Sigman just called to tell me the first Kingmaker is finished and will be on its way to me later today. It has taken a while to get the details right on this one, but Mike assures me that it has been worth the wait.

Long ago I promised to compare and contrast the Kingmaker to the Arms & Armor Henry V. I will charge the batteries in my digital camera and get ready to post some photos of the two together.
Sweet. Can't wait to see the pics. Congrats!
I talked to Mike today, and he said if we are lucky there might also be one of these at the MAX show in Indy
Sounds great Steve! As I understand it, the Kingmaker was changed a bit from the initial design so a direct comparison to the A&A Henry V might not fit. Still, they are similar swords so the contrast will be interesting to see. I've been waiting to have a look a this one for quite some time.

I believe the blade is now both longer and narrower than originally planned, both changes that would appear to be improvements if my tastes are the test. Any comparison will be unfair to the older design I am sure. I will also match it up against the Prince, which it now resembles quite a bit in blade outline.
Even the original design wasn't intended to be a Henry V replica. While the two share some basic visual similarities, so do many swords from that era. I'm glad to see this one "in the steel" as they say. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person.
As a former owner of an A&A Henry V sword, I will say that Albion's got their work cut out for them if they're going to compare their offering to that of A&A. But then again, I doubt that's the case anyway. I've just seen the pictures of Albion's Kingmaker, and what a nice looking sword it is!
