Hello, i' m fond of historical fencing and I need your help. I need any information about two-nanded hammers, with photos and armour which suits to it (historically).
p.s. sorry for my English, it's not my native language.
Where there is a thread concerning hammers right now, I don't think it has any actual pictures. :wtf:
However, you should do a search for hammers, and see what it contains for information. I'm in a rush, but I know it had soem information about time periods, and from there you should be able to determain appropriate outfits I guess.

If you want a two handed hammer, your best bet would be a Bec de Corbin, or similar polearm;

These typically orginate from the 15th and 16th century, and as such you would want plate armour native to those eras.
Like all "short" polearms, they where most common with heavy infantry, who had enough armour to soak up blows at close quarters, and needed the punch of a two handed weapon to defeat similarly equipped enemies.

Unless he was refering to this kind of two handed hammer... :D
Look. I've found it yesterday, What can you tell me about the armour of those knights with hammers.

The hammer from previous post is from "Conan the barbarian" i think. But I meant the middle-age battle hammers? but not lutl hammers - they are interdicted, because they cause a lot of damage. We are not killers - we are historical reconstructors.

Where is that picture from? I am having a hard time blowing up the image to tell if the knights are wearing a type of bascient or some type of sallet. It almost looks late 14th early 15th. If you have a larger image or the title let me know and I will try looking it up.
