Hello,
I have a few swords that I am designing and hope to have custom made in about a year or so. Right now I am still doing some research. One of the swords I want is a saif. I found this pic of a reproduction here on myArmoury but the one who posted it had found it on the internet but i haven't been able to find it again. I was wodering if anyone has seen it and possibly knows it's maker?
Thanks,
-James

J.,
Can you tell us a bit more about where a saif would come from and such?

"Saif" is an eastern word meaning sword. The sword shown isn't like a kaskara which would be double edged so it is more like a shamshir having only a single edge. Shamshirs adapted the curve that is so well known around the 1300's so I would say this is a standard (if highly decorated) eastern/arabic sword from the early crusade period. That is basically what I can tell about it from looking at it.
Thanks.
Had not heard the term before.
