Introducing my new glaive from the guys in Minnesota.

I don't have a weight at the moment, but some stats follow:
length from cross to tip: 21.75 in
cutting edge (front): 20 in
cutting edge (back): 14 in.

Yes, it is double edged (I thought the back edge was "false" until I cut my hand on it!). To give some idea of the handling, I can say that it balances about 3 inches short of where the end of the languets fall on the shaft. So that if you want to put one hand on the balance point, you grip only wood , but if you slide your hand to where you touch metal, then the shaft behind has more than 50% of the mass).

The shaft is oval with a flattened edge on each side, so that you feel the direction of the edge when griping the shaft.

The overall length is right at 8 feet. My scale is broken, but I would estimate the weight at 5 lbs by weighing myself holding vs not holding it on our "bathroom" scales.

Seems like they got your Glaive out to you pretty quick. I think 8ft is about the maximum length they can ship without doing specialty shipping (very costly). It looks very nice. What do you think about the reach?

I've been surprised by my polearm since I've only really been axposed to rapier and longsword. Completely changes my normal assumptions of timing and distance.

The 8ft is plenty - it seems pretty long to me. Hard to express how much I would hate to face one of these things in a conflict. The extra leverage and power generated would make a devastating offensive weapon. Just scary.
