Hello, guys!
I need some pictures of (authentic) coats of plates and some basic information about them - general construction notes (I have patterns) and use, particullarly in the first half of the 15th C
Thanks in advance!
Best regards!
Boris
Boris best source going that I know of is Armour From The Battle Of Wisby 1361, by Bengt Thordeman. Its currently avaliable in reprint by Chivalry Bookshelf and you can probably find it through the bookstore here at myArmoury. Dozens and dozens of original coats of plates excavated from the grave pits of the battle.
I believe this variant was found at Azov.

Dan, i've never seen this guy before, any idea what the external plate with what looks like a pin on it is for(attachment of helm chains?) on the front just at the neck line?
The report of this find is online somewhere. When I first found it, I posted the link on Arador but that is no more. I've had no luck using Google but I'll keep looking.
Edit: found an English translation.

The author believes that it originated in Italy.
