Wanted, Oakeshott Type XXII Sword Pics & Info
pics and information on swords belonging to Oakeshott type XXII seem to be hard to come by which seems odd since he states that surviving examples are "among some of the most lavish parade of swords of the 15th Century". I would assume that most of these swords would be well cared for and documented but I don't seem to be able to find any info on them. Anyone have any nice pics of Frederic III's ceremonial sword or Sigismund I's sword? Oakeshott has some small black and white pics in "Chivalry" but they don't have much detail. I'm particularily interested in Sigismund's sword and information on the Gesellschaft der Lindwurms "society (for the lack of a better word)" of which he was a member. I'd also love to see any other surviving members of this class of sword. There really aren't enough examples for me in "Records".
Did you check the thread on ceremonial/REALLY ornate designs? It might have pictures of the type you are looking for.

Regards,
Nate

Happy Happy Joy Joy. How did I miss that thread. Thanks a lot. I also ended up finding the information that I was looking for on the Order of the Dragon. Here's the sword that I was looking for. Again thanks.
