...because it's probably headed into a private collection. This early 16th c. Italian weapon is the most attractive longsword I've ever seen. It's in the new Fagan Arms catalog (#73). Here's the (condensed) scoop from the catalog:
40.75" d.e. blade of flattened diamond cross section. Thick ricasso. Medial fuller flanked by lineal and stippled border for half its length. Iron hilt. Large faceted spherical pommel. Leather covered grip in two sections. Unusual guard form descended from storta.
