How were langettes(spelling?) historically fastened to the polearm stave? I have seen brass screws on many reproductions. Is that historically correct? Thanks for any input. :?:
Sometimes they were nailed to the shaft, sometimes they are a through-and-through rivet peened on the ends.
On a lot of repros I've seen, the brass pieces are rosettes tacked in place, which are wonderfully period. Are you talking about the rosettes (typically nailed), or actual brass screws?
