I am aware that many of the tunics from birka had metal brocaded trims on the cuffs (although i dont know how many of the bands found from birka were not metal brocaded) and the mammen man seems to have had metal brocaded bands sewn to "armbands made of silk", but what i couldn't find was how often were they decorated at the neckline with tablet weaving. It seems that the most common form of trimming are strips of silk, and thats what i have seen the neckline of the mammen mans tunic decorated with (although the reconstructed trim doesnt look like the surviving strip of samite at all.)
So I would be really interested to know how common were tunic necklines decorated with tablet weaving and the prevalence of tablet weaving as tunic trimming in general :D
