ive had an old H/T longsword blade sitting around for a project that sadly got pushed aside for the last few years and now that i have time to do a bit of work on it I no longer really desire a true longsword and am more leaning towards one handed swords. would it be reasonable to reshape the blade into a type XVI, type XVIIIa, or some similar cut and thrust sword or am i better off selling it and using the money to finance a new blade or whole sword?
if it is reasonable to modify my blade does anyone whos worked with reshaping these blades have any pointer? this will be my first project massively reshaping a blade.
what are some of the proportions i should be looking to make with a onehanded cut and thrust blade?
thank you
Maybe it'd be easier to sell-off the blade or trade it for a more suitable one ?
I did this many years ago, using the HT Longsword. It was pretty easy. You can read about it here: https://myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=19194&view=previous
