This is an original sword found during WW2. Anyone can tell me more information about it?
The W,K & C inscription must "Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie" (W.K.C.) in Solingen.
Weyersberg & Kirschbaum joined in 1883.
According to their homepage: http://www.wkc-solingen.de/en/wkc/history
"WKC developed into the world market leader for ceremonial swords, edged weapons and military bajonetts. In the late 19th century they produced more than 100000 blades annually and also delivered to other sword producers, e.g. Wilkinson Sword in England".
The factory was bombed by the allies in 1944.
Reopened after the war and started to produce swords again from 1955 and is still providing ceremonial swords today.
So your weapon is from in between 1883-1944, but it can be narrowed down.
So it gives us a date after 1901 and a sword owned by an artillery officer between 1901-1918.
Then someone claimed it during or after WW2.
It is possible that an older officer was recalled to duty and thus carried it also in WW2.
