Blade and grip are good, carries a Woolley and Deakin mark. Everything's tight as a drum in the grip and guard. Blade is 34.5" and has been spear-point modified, the left side of the guard has been modified for wear comfort I believe. There is a crown stamp over what I think is a "4", and on the guard quillon there is a "9" stamp- or maybe a 6? Blade tapers from about a third of an inch to under 1/10th inch thickness, weight w/o scabbard about 2 lbs 6 oz.
Opinions?

and i have learned something new.
obviously the asymetrical disc-guard is, what distinguishes the 1796 HC it from it`s inspiration,
the austro-hungarian 1769 pallasch, which has a round symetrical disc-guard.
...covered with rust in a corner of a shop.
The guard was originally symetrical but these were modified because they chafed and wore the uniforms badly when worn.
