Nice! I bet some of those are the ones described in the MOL's Knives and Scabbards.

Nope, those are riverside finds by the London Mudlarks (the people who explore the foreshore and find all sorts of stuff.)

the MOL has a fair few from there, but none of those are in Knives and Scabbards, which was specific excavations of the revetments on the thames. Knives and scabbards doesn't really mention that in detail, but "The Medieval horse and its equipment" from the same series of MoL books has a more detailed chapter outlining the excavation sites.
even better!
i need to explore here, but it's overwhelming: https://finds.org.uk/

It is, and I sometimes forget how lucky we are in Britain that we have a state funded body like PAS to work with the metal detectorist community, encouraging and legitimizing their hobby and ensuring that their finds are properly recorded and followed up by archaeologists.

It's a phenomenal resource and a model that should (in my opinion) be taken up more widely in other countries.
Just finished watching the full run of Detectorists here, so it's very much on my mind. :D
Great programme. Gentle, poignant, funny,

The PAS is an amazing resource, a huge museum of the found and a massive glimpse into the zillions of things people have lost, every country should have one ideally.
we have something similar here, but it's divided into cigar boxes under the beds of 10 million farmers and available by appointment only.
