Hey. I've been looking for a while for winged spearheads that are being sold in Europe, especially the UK. I have not come across anything good except for Hanwei's viking type (which I find too fancy) and this Frankish one from Kult of Athena (http://www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=1801009900&name=Frankish+Spear+Head).The spear head from KOA is perfect, but they're out of stock and the shipping is rather high in price. So, does anyone know where I can get a winged spearhead, preferably in Europe? I am willing to spend around £35 on it. Many thanks.
I would like a sharp head for use on bottles and other soft targets.

Well, the low price sort of eliminates custom work, or even the higher end stuff from A & A I will still suggest as good choices for other readers of this Topic who might be willing or able to afford more.

The Hanwey spear is probably not sharpenable since it's socket may runs into the centre ridge of the spear head and is probably hollow even into the edges: I'm not sure about this one, but the Viking Hanwey throwing spear I purchased was disappointing in this way, O.K. if I wanted just a display piece or a blunt. The extremely thick edges are what seem to keep the two halves of what I think is a casting together ? :wtf:
NOTE: I would have to actually see and handle the Hanwey Viking Winged Sprear to be sure if it can be sharpened or not

The Frankish spear head you mention does seem to be sharpenable and as inexpensive one should expect for something usable.
Now if you can find a U.K. source your shipping costs should be more reasonable.
You could try the Knight's Shop, but looking there I think what I saw was the Hanwey, but if you e-mail them maybe they can special order what you want or give you some advice about where you might find what you are looking for.

Another possibility close to your price range would be the Cold Steel offerings. Their MAA series Winged Spear is a fairly traditional style, sold by KOA for USD 88. If you want an excellent winged-style spear for cutting and don't care if it looks entirely "medieval", I would also recommend the original Cold Steel Boar Hunting Spear. Modern hunters have been using it quite enthusiastically for about 20 years now.
I expect you should be able to get one from any European dealer who stocks CS products. The Cold Steel website lists one UK dealer called BA Blades, website www.beararm.com. They carry all the CS spears.
