Hi

What pommel type would you classify this sword as? It looks like a Oakeshott type H... but the sides are hollow ground like a type K. Would you call this an H a K or an in-between type, thanks.

It's kind of like an H, but that type has a 45 degree slope from the central plateau (for lack of a better word) to the edge. I would call it a type J, with a larger than usual central plateau.

I'd say that sword you're linking to is a simplified/crude design not based on anything specific from history. As such, it would have to be described as an H/J hybrid.

I'd wager that antiques that would be similar would be J1 pommel and have a central disc.

I have an original, in my collection, from c.1300, with an almost identical (though overall thinner) pommel.
I would call it a J1 or an H/J pommel. Mine is close to a J1 like the one posted, but also like the one posted, has no inner ring. It instead has a small cross in the centre of the pommel.
