- 88 cm diameter
- 6 kg weigh
- larch wood planks circa 12mm thick
- covered with 2 layers of linenen fabric (red colour outside) with leather glue
- hand raised shield-boss 2mm thick
- the edge covered with hard leather

well. it's not exactly replica of any artefact ...it's just the shield in viking style ... :)
yes ,there're nonparalel planks but most importand thing is the structure of wood ...I mean the layers within planks ...I don't know how does it call in English ? :confused:
the structure layers of the wood are not parallel ...so, the planks are not parallel :)

I believe he means the grain of the wood

the shield isn't available already ...maybe I'll do new one soon :)
