Does anyone make these?
I was looking over at the photo's and in the combination alblum they have the wheelock's/ etc

I have been looking to find a regular wheelock or a combination wheelock weapon for a long time, is there anyone that makes them nowadays? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Right now about the only a couple of makers of decent wheellocks around (who I am aware of at least), and one of them is Dale Shinn , and you MIGHT be able to talk him into it, if you already had a good blade etc. He's made up hilts with no problem (I have a gorgeous dagger he made a while back) but I doubt he would want to tackle the sword itself. Here's the website he has for his ECW group, you can contact him through there:

Dale is a wonderful fellow, and if you can get him interested in a project he'll really get behind it. I'll use this thread as a good excuse to post yet another picture of my own wheellock pistol that he made for me about 20 years ago... and he keeps getting better at this, needless to say! :D

(You can message me privately for the other maker I know, who resides in Texas. I'd have to find out if he minds too much publicity by my posting his information on a major Web forum like this... though I wouldn hope he wouldn't mind!)

Good luck!

Gordon;

Nice to have a picture of it not hidden by a large white cloud of burning gunpowder........LOL.

I have to remember that "ENVY" is not nice!

I also have to clean the drool of my keyboard.

Hope you write a nice long article on the practical use, care and feeding of wheelocks: HINT HINT HINT, NUDGE NUDGE !
Jean; Thanks for the complements! What else is there in this other than to enjoy having your friends drooling over your toys? I do need to get busy and write something amusing up for Nathan about these monsters though, keep bugging me about it, I'll get to it eventually :D

For your viewing enjoyment, here's another picture of the same piece, also sans a huge cloud of smoke, LOL! (Any excuse to show it off, you know!)

Cheers,

Gordon

Thanks for the pics.

I have been wanting to get into gunsmithing and sword making so I can possibly make some, but as usual life has a tendacy to get in the way. Right now i'm trying to finish up nursing school so I can have a steady income.

I'm not sure how long it takes to learn these things but It seems like it would take a long time to learn.
Sorry to bring up an old post but I found a place in the UK that sells wheelock's.

Anyone have any dealings with them?

Also I have never placed an interenational order before, is there anything I should know befre doing so?
