Where are some good places(online) to buy bows? I have only shot compund, but am interested in the more historical bows.

I am interested in both European and japanese bows, but the only ones I have been able to find are versions of Legolas's bow from the LOTR movie, which the arrows imo are way overpriced.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appraciated.

Well I can't say for sure, not seeing the arrows or their price, but I can say there is a lot, a lot of work in making a good arrow, or ya. Much depends on how raw the materials are one starts with, and the level of performance you're shooting for. Often the bow is the simpler part of the equation IMO. I haven't searched much I recent times to see what is available on line, nor have I purchased anything from the link below, but I have always been impressed by the range, quality apperance of products. Many of the bowyers they use are well known and top notch: Kissenger, Welch, etc.
Their prices seem right in line for a properly made, good shooting bow. If I were less inclined to make my own I would go here. http://www.krackow.com/html/bows.html

If you go to Black widow bow's, i know they make recurve's if i remember right they have a few longbow's these are hunting bow's and i have heard alot of good thing's about there quality, they run fairly hig in price about 200 dollar's +or-, i have shot a couple of there recurve's at hunting show's and they are nice, these aren't replicated from any historic source they are a modern design, although the stick bow hasn't changed a whole lot in 500 year's even composite's were in use in the B.C. time period's.
