Hi all
Looking for references of padded skirt armor for late 15th early 16th century
Had a look on google and found out they are also referred to as bases
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bases_(fashion)#cite_ref-1
alas i could not find any paintings or reproduction armor of this type
so if you think you have what i might be looking for please make a post
The German word for it is Waffenrock and is usually asociated with Landsknecht officiers.
In the article on wikipedia it stated that
"Italian armoured cavalry had been wearing bases, with or without a jerkin or vest for the chest as well, since the late 15th century"
i was wondering if you know of any examples of` these Christopher Treichel?
