Gents,
I have a hauberk. I'm planning on purchasing a matching coif. Both are proper flat riveted mail. What is the best way to go about integrating the coif into the hauberk? Is there someone who would do this for a fee?
While I am sure that someone can do the work for a fee, I think you have a mis-perception. Flat, wedge-riveted mail isn't really proper for the 11th, 12th and early 13th centuries, when hauberks with integral coifs are most common. There is also quite a variety of ventails over that amount of time, so there is no single "proper" method for closure. Look for sources close to the time and locale you're trying to portray for more ideas.
If you want to take the easy road, tuck the mail coif into the hauberk.
Harry,
Good idea... then throw a surcoat on and done! Not a soul will know but you.

You'll have to do some tailoring of the coif the make it look better... Close up the facial opening to cover the chin, and take in the neck a bit.
Or to make it look even more authentic, leave the facial opening large enough that you can pull the coif back off your head but then add an aventail to close up the chin and lower face.

Mark at Cap a Pie will do this.

I second Tod. They are rare items as they are such a pain to do and get right. Putting the coif on first, then the shirt and some kind of surcoat is a decent enough cheat if you are not giving up close talks and demos although you have some doubling up and thus extra weight.
mark will do you an excellent job.
