Since grips seldom survive, it is hard to know what designs were used. Some are still attached to the tang, but you can't be sure if they are the ones originally fixed to the swords. Swords found in tombs, representations on effigies and tomb brasses, and contemporary paintings are probably the best sources. I'm interested in seeing grip designs from 1375 to 1425. If anyone has a representation/photo of a grip from this period, I'd love to see it.
Here is one from a tomb brass dated to 1400 from Laughton, Lincolnshire. The grip looks a lot like the one on the Albion Chevalier. (FWIW, I've never seen a pommel like that)
