I noticed today that a copy of The Celtic Sword by Radomir Pleiner has surfaced on Amazon.com in the United States but for a pretty hefty $347 in used condition. I was wondering if anyone had any input as to whether or not that was a fair price.
From what I hear, if you want to actually make Celtic reproduction swords, this is the book because it goes into the metallurgy of the blades and how they were made.
Can anyone tell me if this book covers the Celtic anthropomorphic hilted blades, the swords and daggers?
That's a pretty fair price, if you need the information. There are cheaper books out there with similar information. It just depends on how important that book is to you. You can always check it out for free through your local public library, with their inner-library loan system.
As far as the price for The Celtic Sword, I've seen prices as high as $1,700.00 before. But the average seems to stay around $350-$400.

Don, thank you very much. I went ahead and purchased the book. I've been looking for it for a few months on Amazon, Alibris, Powell's and others in the hopes of finding a copy and I have been drawing blanks until now. So I thought I'd better grab it while I could.
Holy Cripes! I'm glad I bought mine for a measely $100 back in the mid 1990's.
