Here are some images of another recent project, a 17th C cuirassier's burgonet modelled largely on an example in Higgins Armory Museum. It is made of 18 and 20 gauge steel, which has been heat-blackened, and is decorated with copper rivets, hinges and finial. For those curious, there are more photos and a more complete description accompanying its Etsy listing.
I have also included an image of a shield boss based on Rygh no. 221, which is hot-raised from 12 gauge steel, blackened and left rough-from-the-hammer. The next will have a broader flange.
Comments and questions welcome.
