I really love that draw-knife! Really under-appreciated tool, but a true joy to use. I really like your style of smithery.

I agree about the draw-knife Bjorn. It is quite amazing how precise you can be with a little practice. This particular one has an approximately 12" x 1" x 3/16" blade. I just have to add handles, which I will probably use ash for, and its done. I am working on three different period-correct tool kits for the local historical society to use in living history demonstrations; one each for the 10th, 15th, & 18th centuries. This draw-knife will be going into the 15th century kit.

I will most certainly keep showing the progress of the tools. I've got a big list of stuff to make, and it will take awhile since I'm sneaking them in between orders. Each will consist of a variety of wood working, excavating, and other tools appropriate to a 10th century Viking encampment, a late 15th century mercenary camp, and a late 18th century North West Company fur trading post.

I'm quite interested to see more of your 15th C. created tools, as was brought up on your ugly axe thread, about using them for wood carving, at first when I spied the small axe with spike I thought 'oh yea!' war weapon but after what Jean and another where saying about them using for wood working it got me thinking and I had thought about your draw knife, as I wouldn't mind to see some other basic wood working/carving tools. Oneday I need to get some! do you ship to NZ?
