Hi,
I would like to know what kind of armors the Swedish cuirassiers might have used in the second northern war 1655-60.
I have seen the osprey book pictures about the Swedish cavalry in the thirty years war but I know there were changes in this period.
So I'm interested especially in the heavy cuirassier armors and helmets if they existed yet. Did they use burgonets (open or closed) or armets? What type? Or lobster tail helmets only?
Were they all blackened? I have seen only blackened armors on paintings and Osprey pictures.
Maybe some black&white pieces in the Brandenburg army? Those might be outdated but the helmet of the Swedish king seems to be such type: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons...Gustav.jpg
Someone said vambraces and greaves were removed from cuirassier armors earlier by Gustavus Adolphus.
I appreciate any help.
