Hi All,

I have been planning to start running courses for a while and so as a tester day to help me work out how to structure my facilities and content I invited a mixed group of customers, friends and forumites with mixed abilities and who I could trust to be honest when I asked for feedback.

It was a very valuable exercise and will help me plan the future courses I am thinking of running.

I would like to thank my experimental subjects from left to right, Mike Anderson, Finona Francis, Chrissie and Glen Carnie, Julien Messange and Gary Wise - Thank you. I allowed them to make whatever medieval knife they chose and assisted them through the process; starting with a blade and taking it through filework, bolsters, scales, rivetting and finishing.

The results were absolutely fantastic and a total credit to the application of the people involved.

Early next year I will be releasing dates for a series of courses, which are likely to include: eating knives, bollock daggers, knife scabbards, sword scabbards and crossbows and hopefully they will be as successful as this.

Now mine even looks worse...gotta figure out how to get over to the UK to take your course, Tod!

Huh, seems like I have to make the next trip to the UK by car rather then by plane or train. Customs won't search random vehicles but getting through the security check with a crossbow might be tricky and for that blasted tunnel beneath the channel the security is almost at an airport-level.
If I manage to find the cash for such an adventure that is.
The idea of having a crossbow even half as beautiful as the ones depicted on your site - I know I'm trailing off but when I visited the Wallace Collection they had that Bavarian Hunting bow out for cleaning and it lay on a table within arms reach. Truly wonderful - is certainly a thrilling one.

It was a fantastic day. Tod managed to impart an amazing amount of knowledge and skills and, most importantly, confidence.

If you get the chance, get over to Tod's and have a go. But be prepared: knife-making is highly addictive!

Oh wow... This sounds fantastic, especially as its only 40 mins drive from me! I will be keeping a very close eye on this. Can't wait! :)
