I am currently taking a Medieval History course and am doing a research paper, and after an bit of thought decided to do it on the pressures that lead to the development of transitional armor in through the 14th century. What I'd like to focus on is the social pressure I think might have helped it rather quick development of plate armors from chain, but any information would be helpful.

I've got a huge amount of material that I have access to so it would be helpful to get some other opinions on what would be worthwhile.
