New found from North-East Hungary, (a lignitmine in Bükkábrány).
Sarmatian sword in a wooden scabbard.
I'll hopefully get some infos from the archaeologists next week.
Most of the s. graves in the Carp. basin were despoiled (mostly the metals were taken), so that's an important find.

Very nice! And if that measuring-stick is correct, it seems to be impressively long for the period, rigth?
According to Plinius the yazigs arrived somewhere at the middle of the 1st Century AD. to the middle-Danube valley. For that time, I think that lenght is for an eastern cavalrysword ok.
