He makes such interesting choices. Amazing work.
Wow... a beautiful reproduction of a sword not often reproduced, a Roman Ring-Hilt.... wonderful work, as we've come to expect from Mr. Barta!
Never seen anything like it! I need to expand my library.

Cool! I really like the damascene/inlay work on the hilt hardware. It's always nice to see someone making the more unique blades like this.
I've never even heard of such a thing. Brilliant execution of a little known design...
Really nice work,
Dont know what i like more,
The sword or the scabbard,

I have been a fan of Patrick Barta for a while and I must say that he never ceases to amaze me.

This must be one of those elusive Ring-helt Gladii that folks here have been telling me were standard issue during the days of Hedrian and Trajen...
Yes?
No?
Maybe so?
Well, more of a ring-hilt semispatha. Yes, I'd say that's what it is, one of the types of swords that started appearing about the time of Hadrian, possibly influenced by the Sarmatians. I think there is a sketch of this particular hilt in Oakeshott's Archeology of Weapons, if I'm not mistaken...
