Speaking of baskethilts ...
Perhaps some of you remember the Christian Fletcher/Angus Trim
Baskethilt/Backsword from some time ago ... Well, I am the fortunate
soul who purchased the blade from the honorable Jason Elrod, who
was kind enough to forward the sword to the also honorable Christian
Fletcher, WHOOOOOO provided a custom/historical scabbard for said
beauty ! B-)

So, without delay....
Gorgeous!

I *am* curious as to what the secondary tube of leather is along the scabbard. I've not seen anything like that before.

I believe it's a groove that mirrors the fuller.

I see now that it's a depression.

When I first looked at it, it had appeared like there was this additional "tube" of leather running alongside it.... :)

To use the metal loops and scabbard as an illustrative guide (if viewed as a cross section) , what I saw was this:

It's weird, I still see it that way, and have to really tell my brain to see the depressions, not a raised loop... :)
